Young Legionaries of Mary have today concluded their three day seminar called Congress. This was prepared to equip the leaders of junior legionaries with leadership skills. The Congress saw 230 participants from all parishes of Kabale Diocese. Mass for the conclusion of this congress was led by Fr. Lubein Mubangizi, Pastoral Coordinator Kabale Diocese in Our Lady of Good Shepherd, Rushoroza Cathedral. In his homily, Fr. Lubein emphasized that a legion is a group of people who come together, having a common objective with the intention of accomplishing a common task. He explained that a word Legionary comes from the Legion which was a group of Roman soldiers who numbered about 5000. Legionaries of Mary are called to spread the Good News and move with the Blessed Virgin Mary to take this Good News to all. Citing the Letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 6:10-18, Fr. Lubein advised the Legionaries and all people of God to always put on the armor of God, especially shield themselves with faith.

The president of Junior Commitium, Br. Richard Natukunda thanked the Pastoral Coordinator and the facilitators who gave them different teachings including Fr. Byomuhangi Bruno Sserunkuma, the Director of Lay Apostolate Office, Fr. Januario Nomugisha, the Spiritual Director for Young Legionaries and Br. Augustine Tumushabe, the president of Kabale Regia (highest office of Legionaries in the Diocese). The Representative of Senatus Uganda (the highest office in the country) Br. Victor Nashaba also thanked the legionaries for their zeal to work with and for Mary. He also reminded all Catholics to belong to at least one religious/ecclesial movement and that they should always be exemplary in order to attract more Catholics into the Legion of Mary.
