Rev. Sr. Macklean Karugaba has professed her perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Comboni Missionary Sisters, marking a significant milestone in her religious vocation and reaffirming her lifelong commitment to God, the Church, and missionary service.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was held at St. Peter’s Rutooma Parish in Rukungiri district, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, bringing together religious sisters from different congregations, clergy, and members of the Christian community to witness and celebrate this important moment in Sr. Karugaba’s spiritual journey.

The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Isaac Turinawe, Parish Priest of Rutooma Parish, who represented Rt. Rev. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire, Bishop of Kabale Diocese.
The celebration was graced by religious sisters from various congregations, including the Sisters of Good Counsel, the Daughters of Our Lady of Fatima, the Consoles Sisters, and the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church. Their presence underscored the unity, fraternity, and shared missionary commitment that characterise consecrated life in the Catholic Church.
Through her perpetual profession, Sr. Karugaba has made a lifelong commitment to the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, dedicating herself entirely to God and the service of His people through the spirituality and missionary charism of her congregation.
Her missionary vocation has already taken her to South Sudan, where she serves as a healthcare provider. Through this apostolate, she contributes to the Church’s mission of promoting human dignity, caring for the sick, and bringing hope to communities in need.

In his message during the celebration, Fr. Turinawe congratulated Sr. Karugaba on her commitment to religious life and commended her willingness to dedicate herself to missionary service. He also called upon consecrated men and women to remain steadfast in prayer, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit as they faithfully live out their vocations.
He further encouraged the religious to draw inspiration from their respective founders, particularly St. Daniel Comboni, whose missionary vision and dedication to the evangelisation and service of the people of Africa continue to inspire the Comboni missionary family.
The celebration was attended by fellow religious sisters and members of the Christian community, who joined in prayer and thanksgiving for Sr. Karugaba’s vocation and her continued dedication to the mission of the Church.

Sr. Karugaba’s perpetual profession stands as a testimony to the enduring value of consecrated life and the Church’s mission of proclaiming the Gospel through prayer, service, and selfless love, especially among communities facing social and healthcare challenges.
As she continues her missionary journey, her commitment serves as an inspiration to young people discerning religious life and to all Christians called to serve God and humanity in their different vocations.
