St. Joseph’s Parish Nyamirama was established in 2011 and is found in Kanungu district in the South Western part of Uganda. It was initially an outstation of Kambuga Parish. It comprises of 13 out stations (hiikas) namely; Nyamirama, Kaniabizo, Rwengabi, Mashaku, Mucoogo, Kigarama, Mpangango, Buyundo, Kiruruma, Kyantuhe, Rushaka, Samaria and Bushoje. The Parish has seven primary schools, one secondary school and one dispensary.
The Pioneer priests are Rev. Fr. Aloysius Ndema, CSSp. who worked as the Parish Priest with Fr. Chales Walimbwa (RIP) as Curate (Assistant priest). Currently, Fr. Tamale Ssentongo Aloysius, CSSp is serving as the Parish Priest and Fr. Kamara Vincent, CSSp. as the Assistant Priest.
The lay leaders are working in collaboration with the Priests for the development of the Parish in all pastoral spheres. Nyamirama Parish is a community of communities where Christians are distributed into smaller communities (Small Christian Communities). They also participate in Lay Apostolate Movements and devotional groups and they are all bound together and strengthened by the celebration of sacraments.
