It was created in 1982. On the 19^th May, 2021, the Spiritan Fathers under the Uganda Group accepted the pastoral care of Holy Trinity Parish, Butogota, Kabale Diocese. The Pioneer Missionaries at Butogota Parish are; Frs. Cyprian Faerenga, CSSp and Ambrose Kyomukama, CSSp. The current Parish Priest is Fr. David Mboga, CSSp assisted by Fr. Ambrose Kyomukama, CSSp.
