While speaking at the get together prepared by the office of Orphans and Vulnerable Children Project for Kabale Diocese at Rushoroza hill on Friday, 31, 2025, the project manager Mr. Everist Tumwekwase, the project manager of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project congratulated the graduates and thanked them for persevering to the end and emerged victorious.
Mr. Everist said the office prepared the get together in order to bring the graduates of the year 2025 together so that they know each other as beneficiaries of the same project, but also listen to testimonies and words of encouragement from each other.
He thanked them for taking an extra effort to exhibit seriousness in their academic life because some kept on dropping along the way. He reminded them that the office is always open for them and encouraged them to remain part of the network and continue inspiring the young ones being them.
He requested them to be ambassadors of the Kabale Diocese and asked them to build a network by joining the alumni association and partner with the others in planning and making the group vibrant to keep united, know each other and let the others know their visibility in the community so that they make known the office is impactful.
The graduates in turn thanked Kabale Diocese for supporting them with school fees/tuition and other scholastic materials and helping them grow up into responsible members of the church and nation. They also expressed appreciation for the mentorship and encouragement and also appreciated their guardians who collaborated with the Diocese to take care of them.
Mr. Tumuhimbise Noel, on behalf of the graduates urged his fellow beneficiaries to express gratefulness to Kabale Diocese by inspiring those following them and encouraged them to support the church and defend the faith that has nurtured them. He thanked Mr. Everest and Sr. Fausta for being their parents, supporting and encouraging them to remain in school. He also thanked the benefactors for their contributions and generosity.
Mrs. Edvinah Tugume, a board member Board member for Orphans and Vulnerable Children program congratulated the graduates and expressed pride in them having seen them excel. She said she remembers the office urging them to stay in school and finish the studies and indeed thanked them for staying in school and completing their studies.
Quoting the first Letter of St. Paul to Corinthians, Mrs Edvinah reminded the graduates that they are no longer young and should leave childish behavior behind. “When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child; but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with all childish ways” (1 Corinthians 13:11).
She reminded them that there is a completely different life from what they have been living. “You have been followed up in school now too are on your own, kindly adjust to that, but remember there is a lot of life’s competition.” “As young boys and girls, you have different aspirations you will meet along the way, but you have to be critical and careful,” she said.
You have studied from the best schools, done the best courses so be happy, but remember new levels, new challenges. Go into the world and compete, but compete with a lot of wisdom. Know when to do what and remember to guard your lives, don’t run after worldly pleasures carelessly because they may cut your life short – Edvinah Tugume.

Sr. Fausta Twinomugisha, Assistant Manager of the OVC project said the office arranged this get together in order to appreciate them for persevering to the end. She congratulated them upon graduating in different courses. She delivered greetings and appreciation from the Bishop Callist Rubaramira who wished them a bright future and urged them to remain part of the project as alumni, advising and giving direction to those behind them.
